‘The Wonder Years’ Reboot Featuring A Black Family Is In The Works At ABC
Not all good things come to an end in the age of TV reboots and revivals. The latest series to be resurrected is none other than The Wonder Years.ABC is producing a pilot for the new and wholly reimagined rendition of the iconic coming-of-age sitcom. The Wonder Years aired from 1988-1993, spanning six seasons and catapulting a very young Fred Savage into mainstream success. The original series centered on a middle-class suburban teenager and the woes of growing up in the late ’60s and early ’70s.The reboot of The Wonder Years boasts many creative changes and will tell the story from a different perspective by focusing on a middle-class Black family. ABC’s reboot is set within the same time period, although it will take place in Montgomery, Alabama.
