Cooper Hoffman, Son Of Philip, Boards New Paul Thomas Anderson Film
In uplifting news, Cooper Hoffman, the son of late, great Oscar winner Philip Seymour Hoffman, will make his feature acting debut in Paul Thomas Anderson’s latest film, according to Deadline. We don’t have a title yet, but the movie is based in the 1970s San Fernando Valley and set for distribution at MGM.Hoffman will join another first-timer, singer-songwriter Alana Haim, along with stars Bradley Cooper and Bennie Safdie in the untitled new project. The younger Hoffman will play “the child actor protagonist of the multiple story line feature.” That description sounds like Anderson’s 1999 film, Magnolia, which weaved plots like a quilt and was also set in the San Fernando Valley. Most of the writer/director’s movies take place there.
